Have you ever wanted to edit or remove Google search results which you find redundant or even rank them according to the order you prefer? Rank, delete, add, and comment on the search results with SearchWiki!
SearchWiki is a new search engine tool developed by Google that allows you to move the results you like to the top or even add a new site to the results. You can also add comments to the particular site for your own record purposes. These adjustments will be shown to you each time you do the same search. SearchWiki is only available to signed-in Google users.
However, SearchWiki has quickly generated criticism as Google is likely to turn the search results page into a potentially hostile environment for advertisers. Some users quickly criticized the tool for its lack of an opt-out option, while others have posted a script to disable it, thus returning search results to their original format.
SearchIgnite released data showing that the search ad spend for retailers had rose up to 33% so far in Q4 ’08. With the holidays looming, retailers are increasing their spending on online advertising to capture more consumers’ attention and drive revenue.
However, consumers are spending lesser per transaction. Results from eMarketer shown that e-commerce sales grew only 4.6%, compared with last year’s 19.8% growth rate.
With the weak economy pressurizing e-commerce sales this holiday season, people are getting more frugal. However, despite the financial downturn, good news is that they are still spending online at a steady rate of growth.
