On-site Optimization - SEO |
What is on-site optimization? As you may be aware, search ranking is not only affected by the number of inbound links that is associated with a web site. Search engines also take into account the design elements and content of web sites in their search algorithms. The most important element of on-site optimization is content. When it comes to SEO , content is KING. Having fresh, relevant and unique content is the key for high ranking. Why is on-site optimization important?Different search engines will give different weights to on-site optimization as one of their ranking factors. Compared to directory submission and link building campaign, we have full control over what we can do to the web site itself. But unlike other elements on SEO, on-site optimization requires skills and experience. On-site optimization actual worka) Page title and meta tag analysis - While many argue that meta tags are hardly used by Google and Yahoo! nowadays, some primitive search engines and directories still use meta tags to categorize and identify web sites. b) Optimization of design elements - On your site, there may be design elements that may potentially block search engine robots. These may include Javascript, flash, frames etc.. We will use different techniques and approaches to work around. c) Keyword density - Ideally, every single page of your site should consist of about 10% important keywords that will help search engines identify the page. We definitely do not want to spam the search engines by stuffing the page with keywords, but its important to use enough of them so that your page can rank well. d) Link Structure and link analysis - In the eyes of search engines, the entire web site should be organized in a hierachy structure. We follow closely what Google says: Google guidelines for webmasters. Having a well organized web site helps your visitors to navigate better as well. e) Content optimization - These may include basic proofreading of site content so that there is minimum spelling or grammatical mistakes. f) Minimization of document file size - Not only will pages that download faster rank higher on search engines, they are also more user friendly for visitors. Here, we will shrink your document size to help search engine robots index your entire site faster and more easily. Our work here also include removal and correction html codes. g) W3C HTML and CSS Validation - Sites that conform to the standards implemented by W3C will generally rank higher than problematic sites with messy HTML codes. We will remove/correct any redundant/incorrect html and css codes. |
