The Next Wave of eMarketing - Web Video Advertising
Friday, 26 September 2008
Viral in nature, a well produced video that you put up on Youtube can be much more effective than any other marketing campaign that you can think of.
According to Clickz, video marketing is in its rapid growth stage with more than a quarter of U.S Internet users watching videos online on a weekly basis now. Reports from other sources such as eMarketer also indicate that video advertising is red hot and looking very good.
In the U.K, 27 million people watched more than 8 billion videos online in June 2008, according to Comscore.
While still in its primitive stage, online video advertising still poses technical challenges to be addressed:
Ads are often delivered at a lower quality compared to the content itself, causing poor user experience
Due to many technical limitations, video ads are not targeted compared to PPC Ads delivered by search engines
Poor reporting standards - Indeed, its not easy to measure impressions delivered by video ads and provide the customer an accurate report on their campaign
